Not Quite Ready to Wear

Clothing can do a very nice job of keeping us warm in the winter or cool in the summer.  Yet at the same time, it can hide us, reveal us or express who it is that we think we are.  Clothing can tempt us with the beauty of its colors and patterns.  Will we be beautiful once we have put it on? And sometimes, at the end of the day, we just take it all off and throw it on the floor.

CLOTHING CHICKLETS

The “clothing chicklets” deserve some explanation. The large acrylic painting Jumbled Clothing on the Rug began with some impromptu square acrylic paintings on canvas. Each one I made measured 12″ X 12″. With each, I had the intention of continuing the subject and design of the one next to it. When I had amassed 9 of them, I painted the larger 36″ X 36″ painting. The fun of the little paintings is that you can place them on the wall in any configuration.
